This is how I record my LP's. Yep. I also go into quite a bit about editing the videos/sound in Movie Maker, but even then I didn't cover everything. This is an unusual way to record, and I can't promise that it would work on just any computer, since the files come out to be pretty enormous in size. Plus, RecordPad is not free, although it does offer a 2-week trial period if you want to try it. You can get it here: www.nch.com.au I had a little de-sync'ing issue, it starts about five minutes in, but it doesn't get progressively worse; it's just off by about a second. Just thought I should warn you. It's still easy enough to follow what I'm doing, I just hope I'm not insulting anyone's intelligence here. I'm a complete dummy when it comes to computers. But you never know how much people know about things, so I just kind of assume the worst and go from there. A couple of the important things I forgot to mention was that when recording an NES game with FCEU Ultra, it's pretty much exactly the same as recording with Snes9x, just drag File to Record AVI and you're golden. The only difference is that on NES games, you can actually hear the sound as you're recording. One other thing is that in Movie Maker, I often have to lower the sound of the video game to about half or 1/4 of its original volume, since the voice recording is barely audible next to it otherwise. To change the volume of the video, click on the video and drag "Clip" to "Audio" to "Volume" and you can lower it there.

You can also use this same method for any console: Xbox, 360, PS3, Wii, Gamecube, NES, N64, and any system that uses RCA composite cables as an output to your TV. PS3 and 360 do not normally come bundled with an RCA composite video cable. But you can buy an RCA composite cable from Gamestop that connects to a Wii, 360, or a PS3. There are capture cards that record in higher quality formats, even up to HD, but the higher the quality the more expensive it is. And for youtube uploading, 480p does just fine. This video shows you how to set up Duet 2 in Logic and begin recording quickly. To follow this tutorial, you need to have Duet 2, Mac OS 10.6.7 or greater, and Logic 9 Open Logic and create a new session. Click on "Preferences, Audio" Choose "Duet USB 2.0" for your Output and Input device For now set the buffer to 128. For best latency you can set the buffer lower, but you may need to adjust the buffer higher depending on the size of the project you are working on. Make sure that "Software Monitoring" is selected. Click on "Apply Changes" and close the preferences window. In Logic, you can also customize how the I/O labels appear. Click on Options, Audio, I/O Labels If you select the labels under "Provided by Driver" Duet's I/O labels will show up in Logic's channel strip. "User" allows you to name the Inputs and outputs anything you like, With the exception of out 1&2 which is always "Stereo Output". Open Maestro 2, found in the applications folder Here you can select from the different Duet input choices +4 and -10 bypass Duet's mic pre amp and is a direct line level connection to the A to D converter. READ THIS, YOUR QUESTION MAY ALREADY BE ANSWERED!!! I was looking around YouTube for a video telling me how to record my in-game chat and my own live commentary. I couldn't find one, so I figured it out myself and decided to make a walkthrough video to help others. If this helped you out, please give me a Like, it helps out alot more than you know! Note: this also works for PS3 and on Apple, menus and programs just vary slightly. More videos coming soon, including my first Black Ops Commentary. My Cable: www.amazon.com Video on how to record gamechat using the OEM XBL Headset (this should also work if you don't have a pink mic cable, but still have a cable that runs into the controller): www.youtube.com Note to PS3 Owners: you probably have to use the "OEM XBL" link to wire your PS3 controller (This is if you don't have a pink mic cable. I'm not sure of this so don't hold me responsible! I don't have a PS3, unfortunately, but if you have a wire that runs into your controller similar to the Xbox setup in order for you to speak,then the OEM method should work as well), and to play voices through TV: go to Settings, Accessory Settings, Audio Device Settings, then switch Output to System Default and that should be it. I'm just gonna cut & paste the description from the first part, 'cause I'm lazy. This is how I record my LP's. Yep. I also go into quite a bit about editing the videos/sound in Movie Maker, but even then I didn't cover everything. This is an unusual way to record, and I can't promise that it would work on just any computer, since the files come out to be pretty enormous in size. Plus, RecordPad is not free, although it does offer a 2-week trial period if you want to try it. You can get it here: www.nch.com.au I had a little de-sync'ing issue, it starts about five minutes in, but it doesn't get progressively worse; it's just off by about a second. Just thought I should warn you. It's still easy enough to follow what I'm doing, I just hope I'm not insulting anyone's intelligence here. I'm a complete dummy when it comes to computers. But you never know how much people know about things, so I just kind of assume the worst and go from there. A couple of the important things I forgot to mention was that when recording an NES game with FCEU Ultra, it's pretty much exactly the same as recording with Snes9x, just drag File to Record AVI and you're golden. The only difference is that on NES games, you can actually hear the sound as you're recording. One other thing is that in Movie Maker, I often have to lower the sound of the video game to about half or 1/4 of its original volume, since the voice recording is barely audible next to it otherwise.
